Ahascragh Distillery aims to make whiskey history in the West of Ireland. We are fundraising to complete our eco-distillery and whiskey experience in the village of Ahascragh. Our journey has already begun with three products on the market and global demand for Irish whiskey set to double by 2030.

  • Our Focus on the Asian market with SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market) of 17k cases by 2030
  • Experienced and well-connected Founders, Gareth and Michelle McAllister have a strong knowledge of the key market
  • Building an eco-distillery with a drive to be carbon neutral
  • 3 products launched in 2021 with plans for international release this year

While living in Asia, we grew tired of being offered “Irish Scotch” and spotted a gap in the market for premium Irish Whiskey. The fastest growing premium spirit in the world, growing by 140% in 10 years, Irish whiskey sales are set to double by 2030. As demand grows, we’re renovating an old mill into an eco-distillery in the West of Ireland.

From living in China and Hong Kong, we’ve seen the opportunity for Irish whiskey growth. Exports to Asia grew 362% from 2013 to 2019 and projections show a CAGR of at least 20%. 1 in every 2 bottles of whiskey sold globally by 2025 will be bought in India.

A key differentiator is our drive to be carbon neutral. Our eco-distillery will be powered by renewable energy, using new innovative technology.

The first phase of the project sees revenue from spirit, cask and merchandise sales; third party bottling; and the café. The distillery will then generate income through visitor tours and events.

  • €1.8 million equity raised
  • Whiskey and Gin on sale in Ireland, launching internationally this year
  • National coverage in Irish Times, Sunday Business Post, RTÉ Radio
  • Cask Programme sales exceeded projections for 2021
  • Shop and Café opened June 2021
